Day 1: Athens Arrival
Meet at Athens airport and transfer to the hotel. Remainder of the day at leisure. Athens is an amazing city to discover on your own with its numerous museums, parks, and the shopping areas of Kolonaki, Hermou, Voukourestiou Street, Monastiraki and Plaka. Overnight in Athens Hotel
Day 2: Athens
After breakfast, pickup from the hotel for your half day morning tour. See Syntagma Square, the House of Parliament, the Memorial to the Unknown Soldier, the Athens Academy, the University, the National Library and the Hadrian's Arch. Visit the Temple of Olympian Zeus and the Panathenaic Stadium where the first Olympic Games of the modern era were held in 1896. On the Acropolis visit the architectural masterpieces of the Golden Age of Athens: the Propylaea, the Temple of Athena Nike, the Erechtheion and finally "the harmony between material and spirit", the Parthenon. Continue and visit the place where at last the statues found their home and admire the wonders of the classical era, the museum of Acropolis (Mondays closed). At the end of the tour, drop off at the hotel or at the city centre. Remainder of the day at own leisure. Overnight in Athens Hotel
Day 3: One Day Cruise (Hydra – Poros – Aegina)
After breakfast, pickup from the hotel at 0800hrs and transfer to the port for the full day cruise to the 3 Saronic islands of Hydra, Poros, Aegina. Lunch served on board. At each island, get off the boat to discover each island's own individual character. Hydra: an artists delight, with boutiques, shops and cafes dotted around the harbour. Poros: a pretty island with chance for shopping. Aegina: The largest of the Saronic Islands, famous for BBQ sea food and pistachio nuts. Arrive back at Athens port in the evening (around 1930hrs) and transfer to the hotel. Overnight in Athens hotel
The smallest of the three islands separated from the Peloponesse by a narrow strait and offering a most enchanting view of Poros Town.
As the ferry sails towards Hydra, relax in the ship's lounge or enjoy the sun and beautiful panoramic view from one of the spacious deck.
The island's amphitheatre shape once serviced as a safe shelter for Saronic Pirates. As soon as you disembark, it's all there; the small narrow stone-paved streets waiting to be explored on foot of by the island's traditional "vehicle", the saddled donkey. Captivated walks along the seasinde promenade, crystal clear waters and radiant traditional fine-craft shops.
Aegina is the largest of the three islands. Aparts from its harbour there are munerous interesting sites to discover on the island, like the optional visit of the Aplea Temple which is the best breserved temple in Greece, the islands medieval capitan and the church of Saint Nicolas.
Enjoy a wonderful lunch on board and return to Athens early evening. Overnight in Athens
Day 4: Athens – Delphi – Kalambaka (Meteora)
After breakfast, Depart via the national highway passing by Thebes, Levadia for a short stop, you will arrive in Delphi at around noon. Famous of its theatre, Temple of Apollo and ancient ruins, Delphi was considered the centre of the earth and the universe and played a central role in the classical Greek world. Pass by Castalia Spring, visit at the archaeological site of Temple of Apollo famous ofr its oracle, Athenian Treasure and the Museum of Delphi with its spectacular finds, including the unique bronze Charioteer the Naxian Sphinx and the Statue of Antinoos. After lunch break, return to Athens via the picturesque village of Arachova, built on the south slopes of Parnassus, well known for its attractive hand-woven carpets, rugs and quilts, as well as for its wine and cheese. In the afternoon leave Delphi for an interesting trip through Central Greece to Kalambaka (Meteora). Dinner in the hotel. Overnight in Kalambaka (Meteora) hotel
Day 5: Kalambaka (Meteora) – Athens
After breakfast, visit Meteora with its impressive scenery, ageless monasteries, suspended between earth and sky. Inside, see priceless historical and religious treasures. Return to Athens via Trikala, Lamia, Thermopylae and drop off at the hotel. Overnight in Athens hotel
Day 6: Athens
Breakfast in the hotel. Transfer to the airport included or, extend your stay in Greece
